Vivo en un contexto donde la estructura del progreso, por lo general invisible se hace evidente gracias a su función segregante. El proceso artístico que me atraviesa depende de la incomoda experiencia de ser ciudadana Colombiana. Esa promesa de ciudadanía hace presencia en mi trabajo pero descompuesta en los baches de su construcción modernizante. Entre entropías y filtraciones hayo en prácticas cotidianas relaciones animistas con el contexto que resisten los supuestos civilizatorios, experimentando la impotencia y el potencial de no ser el ideal público de lo humano, de ser un no – humano.
Where I live, the regularly invisible structure of progress becomes distinct, due its function of segregation. The awkward experience of being a Colombian civilian crosses my artistic process. This promise of citizenship makes presence in my work, but decaying in the gaps of its modernizing construction. Amid entropies and leaks I find in common practices, animistic relations with the context that resist the civilizational assumptions. Undergoing both powerlessness and power of not being the ideal of a human being, of being un-human.
